Packing

Our advice for packing for Camp.
Should I use a suitcase or backpack?

It’s totally up to you, everyone has a different preference. We would say, it depends on the type of travel you plan to do after Camp! If you are going to be hopping from place to place and camping out at national parks, a backpack might be better. But if you’re staying in big cities and going to hotels and motels, a suitcase may be more practical.

What do I need to pack for Camp?

Knowing what to pack can be tough but we have resources that can help you with this. If you want a run down of some of the items we recommend taking with you to Camp check out our packing list document here

As a rule of thumb we always suggest taking enough clothes to last a couple weeks - remember, you will have access to laundry facilities on Camp. You’ll also want to leave some room as you will probably be heading home with lots of Camp merch or items you pick up on your travels.

What should I not pack?

Don’t overpack items you can pick up upon arrival in the US. Most Camps will organise a trip to Walmart (or equivalent) to pick up toiletries and other cabin essentials that take up a lot of room in your luggage.

We would also recommend avoiding taking any clothes or tech that are more expensive or valuable as there is a possibility they could be damaged at Camp.

You should also check what is provided by your Camp - if they are going to provide a uniform, towels or bedding, this could change what you do and don’t need to pack.
