Medication

A brief guide to prescription medication at Camp.
Can I bring my medication to Camp?

Yes, if you are on a prescription medication, we recommend contacting your GP to confirm if you will be able to receive an advance prescription to cover for your entire time out in the US which could be up to 3 months.

Where will my medication be stored at Camp?

Your medication will usually be held at your Camps Infirmary or Medical Center if you are staying overnight with campers, so that they are not able to access it.

At Day Camps you may be able to keep this in your dorm/lodge, but this is not guaranteed.

When will I take my medication at Camp?

You can usually go to your Camps Infirmary or Medical Center whenever you need to take your medication, as long as your children are appropriately supervised. In most cases, you will have campers that take a daily medication, so it may be possible for you to time it so that you take your medication at the same time as them.

Can I refill a prescription in the US?

On your AmeriCamp Medical Insurance, no, you cannot refill a prescription. If you need to refill a prescription while in the US (if your medication were to get lost or damaged for example) you would need your own additional medical insurance that covers for pre-existing conditions.
