A Day in the Life at Camp
Picture this...you wake up to the sound of the birds chirping outside and feel the gentle breeze coming in through your bunk window; you look around and see your campers still sound asleep knowing you have about 15 minutes before wake up time and the start of the madness. Your schedule for the day has waterfront and archery...your two favourite activities. You smile; you’re so excited for the day.
Morning Magic (and Mayhem)
This is an average morning at camp, waking up in a beautiful place, in a bunk full of kids and co counsellors you care about, excited for the day ahead. Then comes the morning chaos: kids are awake and there’s 5 people brushing their teeth, more getting dressed for breakfast, and someone who can’t find their other shoe. This chaos is what makes camp so fun.

Breakfast and the Day Begins
Your belly rumbles telling you that it’s nearly time for the first of your 3 scheduled meals. Your body clock now knows 8, 12 and 6 off by heart and makes sure to let you know that they’re approaching every time.
Then before you know it it’s time for the first period and you’re off to the lake with your kids, trying to decide if you’re going to go kayaking or fishing. Fishing wins and you spend an hour on the dock with your campers.
Flying Through the Trees
Then it’s time for period two at ropes. It’s zipline day and the whole bunk is so excited. After all the flying through the trees it’s time for a change of pace. Next up is free time; your campers split up between the art barn, basketball and the library and you join your fellow bookworms while your co’s go with the other.
Midday Recharge
Before you know it the familiar stomach rumbling is back...it’s lunch time. You sit together with your campers and hear their stories from the free time activities you didn’t see. Next up is rest hour (aka the best hour) so you all head back to the bunk to spend some quiet time relaxing and napping.
Goats, Pigs & Snacks
After everyone has rested it’s time for the 3rd and final bunk period of the day. You and your campers are heading to the farm to visit the goats and the pigs. This causes you to work up an appetite ready for afternoon snack on the main lawn with the whole camp.
Camper Choice Adventures
It’s time for your bunk to split up for a while as the next two periods are camper choice. Your kids go their separate ways to their activity of the week and you go and assist teaching your favourite activity.
After two hour long activities you all reunite again and shower hour chaos is upon you. With 8 kids and 4 counsellors all needing to wash off the day's grime it’s a hectic hour.
Dinner Time & Evening Traditions
Oh! There’s the dinner bell, you better get moving! You sit with your campers and listen to their stories from their specialty periods. After dinner you watch as your campers play and chat with their friends on the main lawn before all heading for evening meeting with the whole camp. You sit on the benches and listen as the campers give each other shout outs for things they’ve accomplished that day. The most anticipated announcement is always the evening activity announcement. Tonight is camp fire, your favourite. You love sitting around the fire singing songs and watching the skits that are performed.
Winding Down the Day
It’s nearly bedtime but before that there’s a bit of time left for a nighttime snack and hanging out with the rest of the age group. By now you and your kids are all sleepy so you go to the bunk and get ready for bed. Your campers end the day with flashlight time before lights out and you spend some time talking to your co’s on the porch before going to bed too.
Another great day spent at camp!
